I don't believe it's fully appreciated just how useful the ribbon is as a feature. It makes the entire Microsoft Office ecosystem much quicker to use and easier to learn. In fact I think that's specifically why you see so many old people used to toiling through 2003's drop down menus complaining about it. When will they wake up and implement this or something like it into LibreOffice?

It's already in LibreOffice afaik. At least in the development version.
yeah, ribbon is superior to plain menus
also pinning any tasks/tools you want to the title bar is very useful

Why can't they just let me use the ultra low UI in windowed mode or half-screen mode? I almost never need to use the ribbon or any of the menus, I just want to preserve the tiny screen space that I have.
Ribbon is better than old school menus if you don't know the hotkeys, but hotkeys >>> any UI.
