Strictly speaking, a CD player is about as good as quality gets unless you're getting lossless files straight from the studio. This is of course assuming that you're stationary and have a high quality CD player. Are new songs even released on CDs nowadays?

Now that everyone has one that's capable of playing an MP3, nobody has taken the time to give a shit about making dedicated music players again. The iPod lineup is pretty much shafted, Zune is dead, and just about anything else on the market is chink garbage.
