Its not that these gpu's are getting gimped, its because the devs are lazy pieces of shit that wont bother optimizing their game. Battlefield 1 looks miles better than this garbage game and runs at 45-60 fps ultra on my gtx960 compared to 24 fps here.

None of these numbers make any sense. Vram and async compute don't explain the either.

390x is beating the 480 yet they have the same amount of ram and in every regard the 480 should be leading the 390x if async were the bigger player. The 480 has higher compute potential, more async units, and nearly every one of its minor architectural improvements was made to improve async potential.

And don't even get me started on the fury. Ignoring the "durrr 4gb," the fury x should in no way be leading the fury by almost 30% when the only difference between them is 5% clock speed and 15% less shaders from a couple disabled CU's. And in no case should a 470 ever be beating a fury.

And I don't give a shit about nvidia's cards.

Stuttering is where your average framerate is high but it swings all over the fucking place. You could have an average framerate of 60fps if it swung from 40-80fps regularly, but the end result is vomit inducing shit that's beyond worse than locked 30fps.

It's usually caused more by the cpu unless the game in question happens to hit a GPU's main weak point hard. Examples would be 970's 0.5 meme memory, tessellation past 8x on anything AMD, and a disproportionate ratio of simple texel calls vs geometry calls on a fury that bogs its pipelines down.

It's something you have to see in person to really appreciate how wretched it is.
