Why do so many people on /g/ dislike Linux? My experience with Solus over these past few months has been nothing but pleasant.

My opinion on linux is that is a great Os for media consumption. I use it on my laptop, but for thing like gaming I prefer Windows due to the wider range of games. I use windows 10 on mu gaming Pc and Ubuntu dual boosted with windows 7 for my laptop.

Usually it's because if you don't know what you're doing in linux you can really screw things up. And NVIDIA's linux driver is generic and not fine tuned for the graphics card series you have, so gpu performance is inferior to windows. With that said, everything else is better in linux. At this point windows is only good for gpu intense tasks if you have an NVIDIA card or need to use programs that don't have a linux version
