So I'm looking for a CPU for school (coding, typing, MAYBE note taking) and it doesn't have to have any sort of gaming capability.
So I suppose I'd be looking for portability, battery life, and reliability (and <350). However there are a billion different options.
Are there specific companies that I should be looking for in this department? Or solid product lines that g stands behind?

Lel I meant to identify that I wasn't specifically looking for a laptop. Maybe a tablet or the like.

Also i7 doesn't offer many improvements over i5. You'd be better off waiting for the next gen at this point anyway.
