Is it worth getting a GTX 1070 if I'm not planning to 4K? Will a GTX 1060 3GB be fine for 1080p?

Some of the newest games are starting to push even the 1070 at 1080p if you want to play constantly over 60fps on max settings.
Just look for some benchmarks of the games you're interested in playing and decide from that.

If you buy the 1060 3gb you're a retard. 470 4gb winds hands down in that price bracket
480>1060 as well
Nvidia for high end amd low end

That's because Nvidia neutered their bullshit for power and can't run DX12 right.
Only buy Nvidia if you want to upgrade every year.

>3GB
>2017
even the most meager games expect at least 4 now OP

>RX 480 higher than GTX 1060 on DX11
I call bullshit on this one.
>>58634049
Considering the 390X is above the 1080 and Fury X, yeah pretty sure that game is fucked
Well good thing I have a 290X

Congratulations on being retarded

what's the story on this?
super async heavy, or Nvidia driver team just DGAF on this title?
>>58634031
Yeah now show results with today's game ready driver.

I have a 1070 on 1080p and it runs every game at around 80fps, the 1080 is better suited for 4k. The 3GB 1060 is a waste don't buy it for AAA games, 6GB 1060 or 1070 is bare minimum

GTX 1080 is barely suitable for 4k, it's realistically more like a rock-solid 1440p card.
TXP is the only thing on the market that I consider a good 4k card, unless all you want to play in D44M or other titles with effects cranked down.
I got the 6gb 1060. I don't play games often and if I do they're Civ 6, Skyrim, etc. just stuff to pass time.
I have a 27" 4k Samsung and a 24" 1080p Samsung and I'm able to run Skyrim SE at Ultra 4k 60 fps, I think I just turn godrays down a tad.
It's a good budget card no matter what /g/ tells you

It looks like developer didn't bother to play nvidia tune. 980ti still strong enough for this game, while in other nvidia sponsored games it's lower than 1070 already.
