Alright /g/ winfag here.
I'm thinking about trying out Linux, but I can't think of any reason to do it besides "It would be fun to mess around with"
So what can Linux do that windows can't?
Respect your privacy. Just stay away from Fedora.

Everything and more.
Linux can do pretty much anything Windows can. Some things it does different though.

What's wrong with Fedora?
>what can Linux do that windows can't
Oh look, it's another "Linux needs to prove itself" thread.
Pro-tip: if any company has systematically proven it doesn't give a flying fucking rats ass about its users it's Microsoft.
It provides a better user experience if you get something like Fedora or Antergos. If you decide to learn programming, it's known as the hacker's OS for a reason.

Selinux or NSAs open backdoor into your system
Easy to diagnose
Perfect for programming
It's Free
So many flavors

I've got some bad news for you then. A lot of companies have contributed a lot the Linux Kernel:
>Intel
>Red Hat
>Samsung
>SUSE
>IBM
>Renesas Electronics
If any government wants a backdoor selinux is not your biggest worry. Some of the companies listed above also make a lot of your hardware, so even if there is no backdoor in the kernel there could still be one in your hardware. (Intel ME anyone?)

Spicy shit
Bitter shit
Wommit-smelly shit
The list goes on and on...

At least the shit's not getting shoved back up your arse like with M$.

Look the same for twenty years.
Configuration doesn't change much over the years, while Windows forces me to search for settings in a new pattern with every release.
