Is the 65" Sony X850D worth buying?
Looking into buying a 4k tv and it basically came down to this and the Samsung 8000 series. I see a lot of negativity online towards the Sony compared to the Samsung but when I looked at it in Best Buy it looked pretty nice.
So am I missing out on much if I go for the Sony? I personally like the design a little bit more
I also really want those composite/component ports that the Samsung lacks
and the picture didn't seem all that bad, but I'm still not sure.

I have one and it's pretty alright. I like Sony panels better than Samsungs as well so go for it.

Samsung is infamous for hiring online trolls to post negative shit about their competition.

I've got the X800D myself, not too sure about the 850D. Image quality wise, I think the Samsung KS8000 comes on top by a slight bit, but that's only because their max brightness is higher. I use mine with my PS4 Pro for HDR gaming and all that, couldn't be happier.
For the rest I'm really happy with mine, and Android TV is pretty nice compared to the usual proprietary OSes from LG and Samsung.
Samsung tends to program their smartv to die in 2 years lifespan.
Don't buy Sony TVs, they are much worse than Samsung, the colors are all wrong and the blacks too dark.

Samsung 8000 is better in almost every way. Depends on the price you can get either I guess.
