For Windows I tried Rufus, the official usb downloader tool and diskpart.
For Linux I used unetbootin.

I've delt with a few UMPCs and some other devices with shitty install support

The best solution I have found specially for Win 7 and up

Use macurium reflect

make a VM or find another computer with similar architecture at lease correct amd or intel and install windows load in correct drivers for device your trying to install to best you can

image the device with Macurium and restore with bootable usb to UMPC

Windows should be able to handle moving to different hardware as long as most basic of the drivers work and don't cause a blue screen

If the device doesn't have drivers for that windows version use Snappy Driver Installer to try to find the rest of them
