/g/ what $100 WAP is good? These ubiquity devices seem to be all the rage but really are they just meme tier?

Cisco shit look em up

For $100? You're gonna get some Linksys tier Cisco gear for $100, but not aironet.

Go on eBay dummy.

Ubiquiti is great if you need multiple APs. If you need just one to cover your mom's basement like 100% of /g/, then it's a meme.
Feel free to google up performance reviews on it. It gets beaten by a lot of shit including a fucking Apple AirPort Extreme.
Unless you have:
A) many, many concurrent users
B) too much space to cover with a single AP
then you have no use for it.
That said, I have set it up in my parents' house (used three) and it's fucking fantastic for the above scenarios.
In my apartment though, it's mostly just me and my GF and it is both cheaper and faster just to use one of the many Asus AC1900 routers out there (Tanga and T-Mobile have had them on sale for months now at $60 new or $50 refurb; just reflash to any number of aftermarket firmware; this is hardware identical to the Asus 68U, which has been 3rd place at smallnetbuilder for years).

>Asus router
Gee anon...

Feel free to suggest another cheap alternative to OP that isn't shit.
The point is, this Ubiquiti craze is retarded. It's a great product for its intended purpose. Unfortunately it's not intended for /g/. The only thing it does better than good consumer routers with aftermarket firmware for /g/ is satiate /g/'s autism.
