Doing side work with a few coworkers. How hard is it to set up our own server?
You'll need some condoms.

Depends on how much traffic you expect, if you're just testing with less than 100 friends, get a rasp, it's pretty easy to setup and consumes very little.
>>58580362
It's not hard, you just need to use the cli.
Open a remote SSH on the server and just start using the software.
Do you want to use systemd or OpenRC?
If you have to ask /g/ for advice you'll never be able to do it.
>>58580362
depends on if you need to set up the hardware too

>Do you want to use systemd or OpenRC?
I know where this is going...
>>58580497
No I don't give a shit, I use systemd over Arch myself and I'm pretty satisfied with it.
Just so you can choose between CentOS/Debian and Devuan/FreeBSD.

What, no... gentoo....
>>58580619
Well if you can use and install Gentoo that's gonna be easy then? systemd is just init scripts for dummies
>>58580639
Shhhh, gentoo is always the answer... always.
>>58580670
Ok then great for you, but don't you have a server to setup? Do you have any other questions?
Like, what software do you need to setup? Git, Mattermost, a FTP and Nginx?

>>58580670
btw

I'm not op, he's probably listening wondering what a gentoo is
