Be honest, is switching from windows 7 to Ubuntu even worth it if I want to learn programming and I dislike IT problems a lot?

Some one give mark a lab coat.

Yes if my old grandfather can use it so can you.
I just noticed that those VR sets is the Samsung Gear VR. I wonder what they are watching..

i have come across many old people who have Ubuntu laptops. you know they have good kids who were sick of fixing their shit everytime they visited
No not at all, and Ubuntu leans more towards the botnet side of things anyway. Get Cygwin on windows and you can learn the Linux commands and structure there first
Just roll a VM and have a linux server. Best of both worlds.

>Cygwin
AHAHAHAHA.
Doesn't windows 10 have bash or something?
Also how is Ubuntu on the botnet side.

this. I put Ubuntu on my Grandpa's PC back in 2011. Runs like a charm and doesn't get viruses from all the porn sites he browses. He doesn't know Incognito mode so yeah... I know what's going on. It's normal porn though, nothing weird or perverted. And even if it was I'd be OK with it. I fap to some weird ass shit, so who am I to judge him...

Go on..?

Can you be more generic? What is your skill level? What type of computer do you have? How many monitors? Same sized monitors?
If you have a decent computer with 1 or 2 displays here is what I recommend:
1-Download LXLE, a lightweight Ubuntu based Linux
1a-Intermediate, use Manjaro Linux
1b-Expert, use Arch
2-Download Oracle VirtualBox (yes, I know KVM is better but you can take a VBOX VM to a Winduhs machine).
3-Create VMs
3a- Winduhs 7/8/10/server whatever
3b- Any Linux you feel like fucking with
-- benefits of VM are huge, saved me hours of time
-- example, did LXLE + VBox PC for parents, created Windows 7 VM for Dad and LXLE VM for Mom. Neither can do shit. If/when Dad fucks something up I revert to a snapshot and done.
4-Install vagrant
Create developer VMs fast
Get VirtualBox.
Install a linux distro in it.
See for yourself whether it's worth it. Because when it comes down to it, it's mostly a matter of personal preference.
