Am i missing something here?
Did she bring an adapter or did you need to use your stores?
Her charger could just be dead and she didn't realize.
Some older people don't have problems with technology, especially not something they've been using for years, if she's been on linux distros for 10+ years, she could very well be much more comfortable in a linux environment than windows, windows might be more user friendly to the average person, but if you already know linux, it can be a bit jarring, and vice versa for Windows users trying to use Linux, you're comfortable with what you're used to, neither are hard to learn, linux just takes a bit more patience.

Hers, it was charging properly

More importantly, how much did you charge her for the service?

Software people and hardware people can be completely oblivious to the other half of things. Specialization does that sometimes. And even without that, when you make enough money, it's a better choice to offload stuff rather than spending your own free time to figure it out. She probably mistakenly thought it was charged, and immediately brought it in for service when it didn't work as expected.
I bet she has experience with UNIX operating systems from back in the day.
