Please help.
Someone with Debian (I'm using XFCE) and a two-monitor setup, can you show me your xorg.conf file? I can't figure it out.
When I configure it with "nvidia-settings" and save the file and restart the computer it doesn't work. It's driving me a bit insane, it seems like no one online has this problem.
Pic related: my xorg.conf file.
Thank you in advance.

What you're having trouble with isn't Debian GNU/Linux, but some proprietary software from NVIDIA.
We can't help. NVIDIA support might; I wish you luck.
Next time, think about AMD when considering video cards to buy.

Surely you mean Intel

Intel drivers are literally abandonware and everyone is beginning to use plain kernel modesetting drivers

if you must use the proprietary driver (don't do so unless nouveau doesn't work for your card) then grab the current one out of backports. It doesn't support anything older than the 400 series, but it also doesn't require you to fuck around in xorg.conf.

Thank you so much for responding.
This works for me, but I'm having trouble with rotating one screen (I have the monitor vertically) and adding the "metamodes" option to put the "ForceCompositionPipeline" thing for the screen-tearing issue of nvidia cards.
Can I put those options in the "Monitor" sections? Or do I need a "Screen" section?

I have a GTX 960 card though

You know XFCE has a GUI tool to set up screens, right?
>>58530362
It doesn't work for me. When I rotate to the left one monitor it does nothing.

set the monitor layouts in nvidia settings in the x server display configuration, and when you're done click save to x configuration file

Thank you, but I know how that nvidia-settings thing works more or less

Are you running nvidia-settings as root?
>>58530514
Yes, the file gets saved
