I have an assignment due today that's based on a mini-interview with a software engineer. I just need answers to the following three questions from someone with that occupation:
1.
What skills are expected (or most valued/needed) from a person working as a software developer in your company?
2.
Why these skills are important?
3.
Based on your experience, which skill(s) – if any – are typically lacking from students graduating from a University or a College?
Also, your position, company and years of working experience is relevant.
Thanks /g/

1- Communication skills. Programming skills.
2- So they will understand what is expected of them. So they can carry out their tasks.
3- 99.5% of CS graduates looking for a job do not know programming. See FizzBuzz.
