every IT community i go to
every coworker i talk to that has to use it
even my parents whom i bought new win10 laptops for (i shouldn't have cheaped out and i should have bought them macs)

all complain about how bad windows 10 is; constant hard drive and network activity because of updates, and a horrible buggy update infrastructure that rollbacks, redownloads and reinstalls updates over and over again because its a total piece of shit

reading reddit r windows10 or hackernews or anything really just shows how bad its getting

every post about a windows10 feature or update is immediately filled with pissed off users

i just hope something significant happens, like a windows10 update trashing an install completely for a really large number to the point where people stop buying windows machines and go with chromebooks or macbooks (or abandon PCs for tablet etc)

Rend a VPS and develop on Linux. It's that easy.

the other day I was shoping at mediamark and saw a group of well dress mature people sitting around a table. There was a mediamarkt employe point to a big MacOS screen he was "look at me and listen Im going to teach you how superior this OS is"

Strange, I'm running Windows 10 on 5 machines at work with auto updates enabled and there is no issue. They all use HDDs.

However, at school there's computers with Windows 7 installed that constantly use the HDD. They run slow as fuck.

That sounds preposterous to me.

If it were true (and I doubt it), then companies would be selling computers without a windows. This clearly is not happening, so there must be some error in your calculations. I hope you realise that windows is more than just Office ? Its a whole system that runs the computer from start to finish, and that is a very difficult thing to acheive. A lot of people dont realise this.

Microsoft just spent $9 billion and many years to create Vista, so it does not sound reasonable that some new alternative could just snap into existence overnight like that. It would take billions of dollars and a massive effort to achieve. IBM tried, and spent a huge amount of money developing OS/2 but could never keep up with Windows. Apple tried to create their own system for years, but finally gave up recently and moved to Intel and Microsoft.

Its just not possible that a freeware like the hackintosh could be extended to the point where it runs the entire computer fron start to finish, without using some of the more critical parts of windows. Not possible.

I think you need to re-examine your assumptions.

you have basically 2 options

1) install windows 10 LTSB N enterprise (stripped down long term support version) and tweak it a bit more so you only get security updates (also no telemetry and metro apps)

2) learn how to linux and realize it's not shit

and if you still need windows learn into VM and PCI passthrough

As a Linux user who uses OS X daily at work, I am warning you that OS X is complete garbage. I hate Windows, but would still choose Windows 10 over OS X every time. The OS X window manager and the various generic drivers are the buggiest pieces of shit I've ever had to interact with. Save yourself OP.
