I thought Electrolysis was supposed to speed up Firefox by using more processes, not just hog memory for no good reason?
>set dom.ipc.processCount to 8 a month ago
>have about 50-60 tabs open usually
>noticed this week some major lags, almost freezings
>can't make heads or tails of it
>today my video player froze, had to kill it in the task manager
>noticed accidentally that 7 GB out of 8GB RAM is used
>6GB is used by Firefox alone
What the actual fuck

Autist spotted. Also thanks to wonders of javascript having a lot of tabs opened in not really supported any more. Interpreters of this spaghetti shit require to much resources.

Nope, I have ADHD, not Autism.
But besides, why would it be any better if I had shoved my tabs in the bookmarks instead? Then I'd forget about them as usual and nothing ever gets done.

Care to elaborate?

And you don't have this problem with tabs because....?
Personally, I used to always have 50-100 tabs open until I switched to an experimental webkit version which didn't support session loading yet, meaning my browser always starts on a blank session. Haven't really noticed a difference.

Poorfag
32 or gtfo xD

found your problem.

because bookmarks dont consume resources unless you are actually using them...unlike tabs

Javascript requires such an elaborate environment to be safe and performant that it cannot be duplicated many times without killing your machine. It's just to heavy. If you try to reuse this environment it becomes stability and security nightmare aka the reason firefox crashes when one tab crashes and also the reason why it was removed from pwn2own. Process per tab is the only way to go and process per tab does not support many tabs unless you have 32g+ of RAM.
Works just fine for me and I'm using the nightly build which is supposed to be the most unstable one.
