What text editor should I use /g/
I'm a beginner trying to learn Python on macos btw.
I tried learning vim but I installed a bunch of recommendated plugins and they just confused me.
Emacs

Don't install any plugins unless/until they give you a feature you want other wise you will just be confused. Type vimtutor into the cli to learn how to use vim, it'll take you ~30 mins and you won't remember/learn everything the first time but you probably won't need to ever anyway.
If you're trying to learn python and have little to know experience programming I would honestly recommend using the python IDE (IDLE) it's simple, to the point without loads of complicated debugging tools and features.
Learn vim later, you probably won't appreciate most of vims credo without having edited text for some time. Also vim only makes sense if you touch type qwerty, full 10 fingers. I recommend klavaro if you have not mastered this skill yet, ~20 mins a day will get you at or above 60wpm in about 3 months.
You should have asked this in a sqg/dpt/editor flame thread, polite sage.

this
it's good for beginners of anything. you will not need anything other than notepad+ until you are several months deep into coding.
