I'm trying to set up Outlook.

I don't think I'll use this feature much so it's not that big of an issue.

When I click on "view email in browser", it opens in Internet Explorer instead of my default browser.

Also in the default programs in pic related, the boxes that are selected for Internet Explorer can't be unselected.

Help please

Sorry to bother you /g/ but I got to ask. My PC keep shutting down. When I reboot , ethernet won't work but wifi does. Only my PC is connected via ethernet. The only way to get internet back is by unplugging the modem and wifi , and reboot everything. Who the suspect here ?

Modem?
PC?
Wifi?
Ethernet cable/port ?
Inconsistent electricity ?

I need a new set of eyes on this , I can't solve it!

Thanks

What is the absolute best alternative to the Dropbox public folder for someone who's not terribly savvy with webserver shit? I do have a server and a domain, but I'm not sure I'm smart enough to set up the required software to make it function like Dropbox did for me.

I primarily used the public folder to quickly link people images exactly as I saved them (no compression, no file type changes, etc.), and also to quickly send people files in general rather than dealing with external upload services (i.e. if I want to send someone a zip of something). It was also nice to use the service regularly for quick transfers between my phones and my PC, but I'm less concerned about that honestly.

Why is my time wrong?
Actually. Why is windows's default NTP server wrong? This is stupid. I updated it manually and it still said 3AM. I changed it to ntp pool's NTP server and now it's correct (4AM).

Is it actually the case that Microsoft can fuck up NTP? Surely that would have hit the news.

I'm very confused by all this and would like an explanation.

I experienced this also a long time ago. In the end I disabled windows NTP client and installed the version from ntp.org.

But yes, 15 years we were joking about our contractor and teasingly ask: whats his NTP port.

A cleaver constructed ntp attack can instantly crash your entire system. Much more potent than DDoS.

>>58491988
It could be that either your PC or a device in your network like a router, firewall or modem is not properly functioning for IPv4. Overlapping DHCP, broken DNS configuration, missing default routes.

You asked for a new set of eyes. I told you something crazy to think about. It is based on personal experience.

Which display would /g/ rather use:

>Display 1: 1080p, 500:1 CR, ~0.5cd/m2 black depth, 95% AdobeRGB coverage, TN panel (but with unusually good viewing angles for a TN)

>Display 2: 1080p, 800:1 CR, ~0.3cd/m2 black depth, 58% AdobeRGB coverage, IPS panel

So basically it comes down to color gamut vs contrast/blacks. I'm not going to be doing any professional photo editing or anything like that on either of these laptops, the only thing that matters to me is which one looks nicer for watching videos.

I have a 60hz monitor and recently got a 144hz monitor to replace my main screen.
I would like to use the 60hz monitor as my secondary screen for watching videos and stuff while gaming/etc, but the monitor stutters a bunch making watching videos on it rather unpleasant. My goal is to get them work at their highest refresh rates at the same time without the stutter.

I can solve this issue weirdly enough by disabling aero (Win7 user), but I really don't like using the shitty classic theme.
Installing a third-party theme also didn't work and the stutter came back.

What can I do to solve this issue? Preferably without having to drop money on another monitor.
Can I run the 60hz monitor through integrated graphics or something while keeping my 144hz monitor hooked up to the gpu?
>>
>>58492518
Daylight makes a screen more difficult to read. Contrast is then important. So if you use it mainly during the day, contrast is an important issue. During the night even the weakest screens seem bright, colour divergence would be most important.

Do you have a file upload site you can link me? So I can upload Impression Eyes for you if you wanna give it a go. I don't wanna risk my mega account being looked into if I upload this n it gets reported for pirated software or something.

Hello everybody. I bought a new laptop a few months ago and I need to offload some pictures and videos from my phone onto it. The thing is, I used to import them to my old laptop, then save those to an external hard drive. If I were to import my photos and videos to this new laptop, it would import everything again because it has no data of what has already been imported in the past. This would be a waste of space and a lot of deleting to do. So my question to you is, how can I change the location of where it checks for already imported media? Thanks.
>>
>>58493892
>>58493919
>>58494146
Honeyview is the tits. Settled with this.

Both XnView and Irfanview looked comfy and familiar, but they were still just a bit sluggish than I wanted, and I couldn't get them to cycle through a folder without coming to a dead stop at the last image or showing a prompt where I might accidentally open up another folder. Both started up faster than Windows Photo Viewer, but Photo Viewer cycled through images much faster once it was running.

Basically I just need a glorified instant thumbnail viewer since I do all my edits in Paint or Photoshop. The editing features in Honeyview are minimal, but it's so fast. And all the familiar shortcut keys I needed were already set up automatically except for the zoom.

WebM for Retards is showing inaccuracies with subtitles and audio, audio will be off sync, and/or subtitles will be horribly off-sync

Not only those, but a glaring inaccuracy is its ability to fuck up the timecode on the trimming function. Something that it was working just fine prior to all the design overhaul. Example being; I'd pause a video on MPC-HC and copy the timecode, say 15:54.527. I'd go to paste it or copy it in WebM for Retards like normal. When WebM goes to that timecode, it's way farther in time than it should be

How do I fix this shit so it works like it should? Webm related is my problem

noscript whitelists scripts globally, umatrix per subdomain/domain/globally.
so if you whitelist a script from a CDN with noscript it'll run on every page, where with noscript it'll just run for that host.
makes it also a lot easier to just "allow everything" on specific sites without having to worry about those scripts running on other pages too then.

There are a number of places mpv searches for input.conf. On Windows it searches the directory with the .exe and AppData\Roaming\mpv\input.conf. On Linux it will search ~/.config/mpv/input.conf and ~/.mpv/input.conf. Make sure you're binding the right things too. mpv's mouse button numbering can be confusing. You can run
mpv --input-test --force-window --idle
to find out which bindings correspond to which mouse button.

>PC freezes intermittently
>debug LED gives me the "AA" code (SATA error)

Could I just have a bad port on my motherboard or something? My secondary HDD is brand new and has been plugged into multiple SATA ports and nothing changed. I have not done this with with my primary SSD, though. But let's just say all of my SATA ports are bad, could I get a sata PCI card? Is that likely to resolve the issue? Just a side note, I do remember clearing the CMOS after it was freezing pretty often and it ceased for like a week.

Also, whenever I put my PC to sleep it never fails to wake up almost instantly. And whenever I turn it off it'll turn back on instantly unless I hit the PSU switch. Does anyone possibly know what could be causing that?

What could cause a sudden but consistent increase in latency?

I've always had a consistent 150~170ms latency between my home and a server located in Chicago. About a week ago, all of a sudden it went over 200ms and never went down again, now staying between 204~260 and absolutely never going under 200ms. This has been consistent throughout the whole week testing multiple times a day.

If I ping a server in Naperville, IL (which is geographically 33.3mi away from Chicago) I still get my old ping range (150~170ms), however.

What could cause this?

an off-by one error in the program that generated these sets means the first of the 3 numbers on each line is one higher than it should be. Re-generating the numbers with a revised version of the program would take ~ 40 days, longer than I'd wish

I'm sure you can imagine how by the 29th line it becomes too large a file to properly manage manually

is there a simple script I could make that would decrement the numbers automatically for me?
I assume AWK or perhaps SED would be good for this, sadly I don't know enough of either to understand how to go about doing this

inb4
>what are the numbers for/ what is it for
nothing frankly, the program computes successive squaring. 2^2, then 4^2, 16^2, etc. it supports starting with numbers other than 2 as well as any other whole number exponent. it's just a hobby project
>>
I dont get it
are all and every single line wrong?
how would fixed line 5 looked?

>>
>>58504264
/2

the ReGex ^[:number:]+ matches the first number on each line, I know that much, but how to go from there I have no idea

>>58504339
it'd be 4 | 65536 | 16

the first number is meant to be the number where 2^(2^n) equals the center number

Check your GPU to see if there's a 6/8 pin connector on it. If there is and you didn't plug this in the first time then that's why it won't boot.

ok....posting just incase anyone cares at all. so, i found a solution, a bit convoluted but it just werked. postimg, like most other image hosting sites, gives you the hotlink code(s) for posting in your website. so i copied the one column of hotlink codes for all the images, opened notepad, pasted them in, saved as html, opened in firecocks, let all the pictures load, used downthemall to download them.
mfw finally found a solution after over a week of trying

I'm beginning to think it's my hardrive. All of my Steam games are installed on my HDD, except for Overwatch which boots up perfectly fine. Every 2D game on my HDD starts perfectly fine, except for the only two 3D games I have. I'm reinstalling one of them on my SSD to see if it works. Also, all of my drivers uninstalled themselves for some reason, but that's still not the main issue.

Okay shit I googled around for like 2 hours and couldn't find anything about this. So I got a new laptop few months ago, the problem was it came with windows 10. After using it with windows 10 for a few weeks I had enough and installed windows 7 but the problem was fucking asus didn't have any windows 7 drivers for this model so I manually found every driver I could and installed it but right now the problem is sometimes while opening to computer I get a bluescreen and it's always my graphics card and it also feels a lot slower. So my question is did I fuck up should I just go back to win 10?

manufacturers get an extra deep ms discount to not support seven with new hardware so your choices are pretty much go back to ten or give linux a shot

Alright, so as it turns out I cannot currently play 3D games on my HDD. No idea why, this hasn't been a problem until just recently. I also have difficulty installing them on my HDD, as the picture shows for some reason it takes ages to install the most simple of games. Every 2D game installed currently runs perfectly for some reason, so I'm stumped. Does this mean I'll have to replace my HDD?

How can I update my BIOS? been googling for an hour and can only find unanswered threads or specific BIOS updates that are not for my motherboard

I have a Zotac G41.
>>
>>58506093
Run checkdisk and crystaldiskinfo
>>
>>58506137
Why do you want to update? If you don't have a specific reason, don't bother
>>
>>58506137
First you have to download a BIOS firmware for you mobo, check the website of the manufacturer.

Then you have to update it, it can be done many ways, again check the webpage of how to do it. Common ways include:
-Windows program that does the upgrade
-enter BIOS itself, then select upgrade (firmware needs to be on a removable device)
-during booting press a specific key to start the upgrade program (firmware needs to be on a removable device)
-you need to boot into fucking DOS and run a DOS based program to update it (you'll need a pendrive for this)

Because S.M.A.R.T. has flagged your disk. You could get lucky. Maybe you run a checkdisk and it catches all your damaged sectors and everything runs smoothly for years. But your odds of continued issues/failure just went WAY up. Anybody running a server etc would scrap the disk at this point

Stupid question about Model-View-Presenter here.
I understand that the Presenter's job is to be the middle man that retrieves data from the model and formats it for display in the view, but how does user input work? For example, if I have a button in the view that, when clicked, should add a data item to the model, wouldn't the view need to know about either the presenter or the model, thus creating a tight coupling?
>>
>>58507664
>presenter subscribes to events from the model
>presenter subscribes to events from the view
>when the model changes, it raises an event that the presenter listens for then modifies the view
>when the user interacts with the view it raises an event that the presenter listens for then modifies the model

the result is that the presenter knows about both, but the view and model don't know about it or each other.
