My zuk z2 pro gets around 8 hours SoT, a redmi 4a gets around 12 hours, the redmi note 3 pro gets around 9 hours, zuk z2 gets 7-8 hours, k6000 pro gets ~13 hours, k10000 gets up to 40 hours.
If you don't like phones being sold local, there's plenty options from china. Unless you're living in the US.

CPUs are still progressing, especially laptop ones. We now have cheap thin laptops with 10 hours battery life and good performance thanks to Intel.
