You'd be better off getting a 4790K if your CPU isn't good enough in multithreaded workloads, it will get you very close to Kaby Lel. It's definitely not worth paying for a new mobo and RAM and you can probably get the 4790k cheaper than a 7700k too.

Its fucking blatant how Anandtech is trying to hype up for this shit show of a product. They're talking about how it beating a processor released four fucking years ago is a major deal. It performs the exact same as Skylake, and Skylake is MARGINALLY faster than Broadwell, and Broadwell is actually somehow fucking slower than Haswell by a percentage point in IPC.

Four fuckin years and they have 5% IPC growth to show for it.

No. I wouldn't even recommend it if you were running Sandy Bridge. It think Nehalem would be the newest system I would recommend an upgrade.
