Install ubuntu on my brother laptop since he is not very computer savvy.
Everything works.
One day just rondomly(no updates or new configurations or new programs installed).
Unity doesn't load, no Launcher, no Dash appears, just the desktop wallpaper and desktop icons.
Search "how to fix my shitty loonix?"
Type in the terminal all of 117237162 "solutions" from the ubuntu forums.
Nothing fix it.

Simple explanation, your brother did something to fuck with the Unity core. Probably cleared the .cache or .config folder which raped his distro.

Unity is tightly knit together, you try to finger one component, everything collapses. Same goes for any other Linux DE.

Use a Ubuntu Minimal CD, advance options and try to get a shell prompt. From there type unity --reset. Or remove the .config folder and restart.
