What is the max speed you can get with RG6? I've never actually seen someone claim that it has a "maxed out" speed.

Its maxed out speed is wherever you can no longer distinguish the signal from the noise.
>>
>>58450335
Which is usually around how fast?
>>
>>58450302
It's entirely possible the same copper POTS line from the 2400 baud days is still being used with ADSL. Who knows?
>>
>>58450347
It depends on the connecte devices and distance m8
>>
They make 100Gb QSFP28 twinaxial direct attach cables, which is basically coax with two cores. Granted those cables are normally only several meters long.
>>
>>58450421
Why not use fiber
>>
>>58450302
for what protocol?
you can expect to get around the passband bandwidth of a cable, plus or minus an order of magnitude
>>
>>58450438
It's cheaper for shorter cable runs. QSFP28 SR4 optics are expensive. Two SR4 optics would be around $2000, while a 3M twinax cable is about $100.
>>
>>58450506
Why is it only cheAper for short runs?
>>
>>58450302
about .66c
>>
>>58451157
Because of resistance and noise.
>>

electrical signals over copper are highly dependant on length
USB is limited to 5m or so i believe, longer than that and you need repeaters/hubs.
1 Gbit Ethernet(cat 5) is limited to 100m
go above that and signal quality is so bad you won't get a connection. Longer electrical connections have more noise. PCIe on mainboards is a few dozen cm(a few inches) so it can achieve high transfer rates more easily.
