I've owned Latitudes since the Cxxx (2001 laptops), my newest ones being the E6320 and E6420. Great laptops, however Thinkpads from that same year (T420, X220) are legendary.

Not sure what are the good Latitudes anymore, I know XPS is all the buzz right now, but I'm very happy with my Thinkpad T450s.

I deal with similar situations because I have to do research on an Ubuntu from 2010 and gcc-4.3 because the constructor hardcoded these versions on their API and I often end up breaking everything out of frustration because "fuck, let's see if it runs!"
