Irrelevant considering that the 2014 gen of cards will still run pretty much everything well for the next 6 or 7 years.
If there is really an urge for an upgrade, adding another one cheap in a few years as SLI will be more profitable than buying a new gen, and it will give the same performance boost.

Only reason AMD cards aged well is because they got rebranded so much. Look at how the 6970 aged. My HD6950 still leaves a sour taste in my mouth when I remember how AMD discarded it.
