Glass desk owner here. They kind of suck really, they look nice but have to clean it every week and it will drop everything on it if it shatters

Any good metal/wood desk will do. Just keep your fans not too close to the wall and keep the desk clean.

Get one of those hard plastic folding tables from Wal-Mart.

The decent quality ones (hard 2" plastic, 1/4" aluminum legs) are like $40 and can hold ~200 pounds no problem.
Pick up 2 of them to make yourself a nice corner desk.

Or, if you want to spend a little more money and time, buy a butcher block top and some wood posts for legs from Home Depot.
If you buff it, seal it, and stain it, it'll look really nice and it'll probably last forever.
