I had a strange dream where I was at the cafeteria in my local community college, and I poured water on a Razer-Macbook hybrid.
This got me thinking... what if Apple allowed different companies to produce different models of their Macbooks. Would the quality improve or would it remain over-priced shit?

It would go down obviously.
Apple manufacturing factories are tiny compared to giants like samsung/asus/dell etcetera.
The quality would stay the same or go down slightly. Apple would let other companies manufacture the device but only to their specifications and no modifications to the look ( except for their name in small print) Prices would stay the say for the consumer, with Apple pocketing any money saved

They don't have their factories, they use foxconn like everybody else.

The quality would plummet

OP here.
In this dream I had, the keyboard on the Macbook-Razer hybrid was the same chiclet style, except it had the gaymer RGB beneath the keys, and the keycaps had Razer's signature edgy gaymer font.
There were official licensed Mac clones in the mid-90 (in some cases superior to Apple machines of the period.)
