Right below it I do have a PS2. The reason I have both is because I have the PS2 using composite cables, and for some reason PS1 games just refuse to work on a PS2 using composite video.

It looks like it's going to have a Maxwell based chip, so I wouldn't expect much from it. The leaked specs aren't that great at all. The shape looks similar to the 3DS square with round edges design, and also a bit like a streamlined Wii U controller, which are both terribly uncomfortable IMO.
If you want to play Nintendo games, I'd either get a 3DS or look into hacking a Vita and emulating older stuff, or wait and see if they actually make something decent for the Switch. I bought a 3DS and a Wii U for a couple of games while expecting better ones to come out in the future, and I ended up being disappointed with both.

I think the main thing killing the appeal of your station are the curtains, imo. It makes it looks sloppy and without uniform. I had that same problems because I wanted my setup with a view, but I solved it by installing blinds, and now it looks a million times nicer. As others have said, cable management. I think also looks quite bad is because of the lighting, get better lighting, maybe a lamp with a softer lighting, lighting can definitely change the appeal of a room.

Get a cable nest mounted under your desk, put the computer somewhere else so it's not wasting valuable desk space and operating at ear level.

I'm pretty sure I'm the one who linked it to you when you asked for recommendations anon. I got mine for like 2 years I think.

If you use them equally, center the bezel and have them angled, or if you use one more than the other, have it flat and centered with the other one angled on the side.

That looks much better than the previous image. You should never have multiple monitors 100% flush with each other.

Do those stands actually allow you to rotate the screens? That's a nice feature.

That's looking nice, I like it. Not sure if you can fit some arms on your desk, but that would make it look even better, plus some cable routing. I'm not a big fan of the Dell monitor stands. They do offer a lot of freedom of movement and ease of use, but the base is so god damn large. It was the main reason I decided to get wall mounts.

Yeah these curtains are nice, keep the heat in and hold the sun back a decent amount.
I almost wish they held back more sun since I'm working at night currently and attempt to sleep during the day

>>58360585
Yeah you have an insane amount of rotation on these. (Dell u2515H) they also rotate 90* on both sides.

>>58360622
Unfortunately the ikea micke has some problems attaching monitor arms to it like some anon mentioned a thread or two ago. It's got drawrs below it with no real place to clamp securely. I need to get around to learning more about electronics. I have access to so many cool tools and no idea what to do with them ahah.
>>
>>58357886
What keyboard is that?
>>
>>58360940
How could one learn? I am so interested in doing these type of projects and shit.

Like something that is very simple to do and good practice is a homemade taser with an arc generator. I would like to do that but my only issue currently is some type of housing for it (I can get most of the parts of it from China)
>>
>>58360992
I have no idea how one would learn about that. I'm a uni student studying Computer Science so I learn some basic stuff about it.
Everything else I guess would just be from researching online and books.

My main issue is just figuring out what to do. I've always been bad at figuring out projects to do to practice something. I'm so out of practice with my programming.
>>
>>58358486

>>
>>58360801
Not water damage, I'm just a degenerate who wears their shoes inside. And thats a hole from my shitty walls.
>>
>>58361011
>>58361119
Yea but honestly I think it is mostly practice, and studying things like electricity.
I am pretty bad when it comes to ideas as well so I'll probably just copy what I see or really think about things I could use.

One thing I have had in my mind is building a PC inside of an original xbox case.
>>
>>58361196
That would be pretty neat. There's a decent amount of room in an old xbox case. Though not enough for a super large PC. Might be easier to put laptop hardware in there.

It's definitely practice and study. It's the same with programming. It's a perishable skill so the less you do, the worse you get.
>>
>>58360585
>What are those devices next to the tablet?

A Magni amp and a Modi DAC. And an HDD under those two.
>>
>>58361223
I think that a mini-itx build wouldn't be very hard, a small PSU would be needed tho, same with some low profile RAM, and cooler. I would try to do it if I had the money.

>>58361274

I find half the fun is the setup anon.
It's nice putting in the work knowing that the end result will be satisfying.

Delayed gratification is important.

>What numpad is that?
Keycool 22 key numpad.
It's just some cheap mechanical numpad from China.
It has one major flaw in that the 0 - 9 keys register as 0 - 9 not Num 0 - Num 9
Not too big a deal but it means I can't use them as extra keys to bind stuff in in videogames.

The switches are Kailh Mx Reds. Which was half the reason I wanted to get it. Wanted to test Kailh vs Cherry switches.
I think it's safe to say I'm sticking with Cherrys.

Hey man. I was just doing some browsing and though these are some nice clocks for your room:
https://www.massdrop.com/buy/inked-screened-geometric-wooden-clocks

Quite pricey though

>>58361788
Looks decent.
A little cramped
-1 for space heater case.
>>
>>58361566
>It would all have to be low profile
Sure would.

>As for electronics... I have no idea. Never really tried.
Fuck it I am gonna try, gonna ask a friend for some ideas on the taser.

Wish I had a 3D printer, could have very easily made a casing.

I would suck at programming, extremely terrible at Math as well.

>>58361683
Didn't you clean your room once?
It's fucking disgusting anon. Please clean it :(
Have you stopped taking the Benzos?

>>58361823
That is quite nice and I wouldn't mind having it in my room but the price is steep! I could afford one but for that money wasted I could have bought a bunch of other decorations or useful shit.
>>
>>58361855
These are also nice:

There aren't many decent GPUs that fit low profile either so it wouldn't be too good for actually gaming.
I guess you could set it up to emulate original xbox games ahah.

Here's a photo of my room being clean.
And yes, but I'm not clean enough to take them without experiencing withdrawals.
>>
>>58361878
I fucking think those look amazing! Very affordable price as well.
I would just have to get a frame for it if I did get one.

Where could I possibly hang it? I don't have much space on the wall ahead of me. The bunk bed also takes a lot of space from my other walls.

If I didn't have a TV or a bunk I would have a lot of room. Removing them might be something that I want to do in the near future.

>>58362121
That looks nice anon. I remember when you posted this picture of it cleaned.

Try and do it again, it is currently in a huge mess. It's good that you are weaning off! Please try and talk to a Doctor as well, a detox might be possible so that you don't experience withdraws.

I was also thinking that if I remove my bunk bed then maybe I can move my TV to a position where my top bunk is.

So I can be laying in bed and have my TV right there in front of me.

Then I have some space in front of my desk to put up like 3 posters.

I would honestly love to make these changes now that I think of it anon, I think it would be excellent!

My door is all fucking ugly and broken (My Dad kicked the door down once) so I am going to replace that shit as well.

I am gonna do it anon, fuck it. There is a lot of work that can be done to improve my setup and room!
Gonna do a lot of changes pretty soon. Gonna get some new key caps as well.
I might buy one of those posters from mass drop, or should I get like three and hang them up on my wall when I replace my TV?
I am gonna have to invest quite a bit of money but I would still like to do that.

Might take a while to get a new bed though.

>>
>>58363015
I think you're probably better off getting frames separately. You can get nice looking frames in that size for like $10 - $20.

Getting a new door and curtain for my room as well.

All of this will go down on Sunday or Sunday.

What do you think would look better brown matte or black matte? I could always get the non-matte versions for 5 bucks cheaper.

Matte is not shiny.
>>
>>58364294

One above each monitor would look nice if aligned right.

Honestly it's an extra $10 so I'd say go for it if you can help it.

Been a few weeks. How's it going, /g/?

>>58357886 - Not a fan of the chair, but I like everything else. Nice and clean. The keyboard seems like it's at a weird angle?
>>58357933 - Tough to tell. Lots of blue, looks like the wires could be cleaned up a bit.
>>58357995 - Clean, simple, nice. I like it!

Thanks a lot anon, my setup was a piece of shit but I have come a long way. In a couple of weeks I am going to make an updated picture and trust me it's gonna be even better! I am making some major changes and getting a bunch of new shit.

I am a fan of your setup, looks very comfy and classical somehow.

>>
>>58367628 >Looks OK. I never understood tenkeyless keyboards though, especially when you're just going to get a number pad separately. How is it working out for you anon?
It's a 60% not a TKL
TKLs still have the arrow keys, a function row, and those six keys above them with the home, in, del, etc keys

Honestly I love it to pieces. I often like to take it with me when I go out places because the keyboards at my uni are really shit tier.

I don't need the separate number pad. I initially bought it because I used the numpad for my secondary flight controls in Elite: Dangerous along with a flightstick in my left hand.

Don't need it at all now since I got myself a proper HOTAS to play games like that with.

Kind of starts to get cluttered at that point. The bookcases by the chair work pretty well for that, though. The chair swivels, so it's not a big thing.

Dry your tears anon, it was hot earl grey tea.

It's nice for working in the garden on hot days (we have a bunch of them here in inland san diego area) - you soak it, and as the water evaporates it pulls heat away from your head.

Gonna cut the top part of the bunk bed off and leave only the bottom, and I'll be able to use my memory foam mattress.
Getting a new curtain for my room. (You can look inside if you come up to my window with my current blinds)
Gonna move the TV to the wall in front of the bed.
Getting a wrist rest
Getting some nice framed posters to place on the wall behind my monitors
And some general cleaning and organization.

Pretty much it for now! I think after this I am not getting anything for my setup in a while, I have spent quite a bit of money so far.
>>
Spending money for maximum comfy is always worth it ahah.

Sounds like you have quite the task ahead of you anon.

I guess I should start organising my own shit to be ready to move when I find somewhere new to live.

Thank you. I would really like a new desk and a monitor arm but I don't have any money at the moment. That spot with my drink mix and money is just where I keep my pocket things because I essentially live at my desk, if I'm home at my desk or in my bed, not exaggerating. Phone goes there too.
I'll have to buy a nicer mouse bungee I guess, willing to deal with the ugly DIY thing I did for now because it makes the mouse feel so much better.
>>58374937
I can tell that monitor is incredible in person even on my 1080p piece of shit. I'm also very envious of your recliner, I hate my chair and I spend at least 15 hours in it every day. Really everything is just so nice, I r8 8/8.

That chair is not fit for purpose, you'll suffer back and neck problems using that with your pc

Your posters aren't aligned correctly

>>
>>58375442

I have used a standing desk on and off for like, 6 years, since before it was a meme. Only pain you'll really ever get from a standing desk is in your feet, which will harden after a couple weeks.

A bar stool is the ideal seat for a standing desk, or a wall directly behind you to lean on.

As for coping. Wearing comfy shoes, or getting a soft pad to stand on (even a blanket thrown down) helps immensely.

>cables

I'd just recommend mounting everything in a good place on your desk, so that you can just switch them without ever messing stuff up and it looks neat.
>>
>>58375499
Did you lose any weight or feel better after you switched to standing?
My health went to hell in 2016, need to make changes.
>>
>>58375499
I should add, standing means you can just walk off at any time. Encourages you to stay hydrated. Take more breaks in between things (like game matches.) It modifies how you use your computer massively, but I would say it can be for the better. I still have a chair for watching movies with my wife.

WTF I just had to fill out like 9 captchas.

Yeah its unfortunate. I got an mc-11 adapter so I can use my L glass on it, its pretty consistent in nailing focus. Upset it won't track / auto focus in video mode with adapted lenses, but I'm not some vlogger so it doesn't really affect me.

>>
>>58375517

Um, honestly I can't remember. I did notice I put on weight when I stopped using it, but that may be more related to getting married and going out to eat more. I've always been very fit though.

A standing desk, if nothing else, will help your health. You'll get used to being on your feet, your posture will be better, you'll be less encouraged to stay at the computer desk when you don't need to. Not to mention better blood flow.

yeah im familiar with the sammy and sigma

the sigma would be nice especially since id get native focus modes with the mc-11

I've discovered I kind of NEED IS in all of my lenses though. No matter how far above i go for a reciprocal rule, I could shoot 2000 at 200mm(1.5) and still get some shake, I did a few tests shooting with it on and off at the same focal lengths and naturally, IS had a much much larger keeper rate. I ended up seeling my non IS 70-200 f4 and got the IS version, I've been happy.

Start with turning on the god damn lights.
Take all pop cans and cups to the sink, pour them out and throw them inside a garbage bag
Put the speakers on the desk get rid of the plastic containers
Pick up your dirty clothes and wash them, throw the sheets in there as well
Take dirty dishes and put them in the sink
Get vacum cleaner and vacum floor.
Take hose attachment and vacum the chair and the matress
Put away the soldering iron into a storage container that lid goes to, youre not using it 24/7 are you?
Put the wii up somewhere else out of sight
Make the bed with fresh bed sheets
Take a fucking nap
You'll feel better you cunt.

Got off work early tonight, and don't have to go back till Wednesday :). Time to either read the Steins;Gate 0 VN, upgrade my old Dell optiplex by upgrading the HDD (still waiting on my agp GPU, should be here Monday, not sure what GNU / Linux distribution I should run or dual boot XP.)

You cleaned! Awesome mate, that looks great. Hopefully you can remove that addiction by this year.

>>58383067
Did you get the RAM?

I have about $55 in an Amazon gift card.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0191YRK6M/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1DYE0JBXZTW6W

Getting this wrist rest for sure.

Any other recommendations? I would like to get some other things.

My current setup, just moved into a new apartment.

Yes, it's at 2gb now, wondering if I can put the original ram in the other two slots and get around 2.5gb? Wonder if it will boot.

Well done good sir. Just clean up that wall beneath the desk.

Do you have the space to put the other sticks? There would be no harm in trying it out mate.
>>
>>58383855

>>
>>58383888

Yup it worked, it's actually 2,5gb not 3gb but speccy bug I guess.
>>
>>58383947
While I'm here, what distro should I dual boot? I'm putting an old 250gb sata laptop drive I had laying around.
>>
>>58383947
Not bad! I ran XP on like 1.5GB (Showed up as 2GB) on some junk PC that I got for free a few months back, it ran fine.

Maybe you can run like Xubuntu or Puppy Linux? Would be cool.
>>
>>58383983
I'll try Xubuntu, can't wait for my AGP GPU (VisionTek Radeon VT 3450 AGP 512MB) This will be a decent machine for old school games and maybe a server.
>>
Side note not sure what to do with the 40gb ide hdd, it's a WD400 and despite being 13 years old only has 304 power on hours, and no bad sectors.
>>
>>58384041
That AGP card should be more then enough for those tasks! Can't wait to see you finally set it up.
>>
>>58384326
Me either :), reinstalling XP and then Xubuntu next.
