Thanks loonix

You can ask the FA to force a restart. Happened to me on a 16 hr flight. DXB-LAX
>>
>>58352053
Pretty much the only time Linux crashes it's a bad kernel that some moron compiled or a hard disk error.

This is probably the latter.

There, I fell for the bait, are you happy?
>>
>>58352068
I did tell them to restart. It segfaulted and the i/o drivers borked.
>>
>>58352083
kernel panics are 90% hardware fault (where you would get a BSOD on windows) and 10% bad drivers (looking at you, AMD)
>>
>>58352083
just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux,
is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux.
Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component
of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell
utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day,
without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU
which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are
not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a
part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system
that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run.
The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself;
it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is
normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system
is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux"
distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

Why the heck would you waste your time writing this hole crap!
It doesn't even make sense, the OS is Linux, GNU is just a set of utilities which are completely optional.

That's what you get for being a freetard. Why the fuck do you need to hide when you're not a hacker or a CP hoarder? I bet you even taped your webcam too. Do you really think your infos worth anything?

It's funny that you complain about Linux for your entertainment system crashing but on the other hand you can't even take a fucking unblurry photo.

You're worse than fucking Linux.

I had this happen. On a flight from Chicago to Shanghai. They can reboot just your machine, or hard restart the whole entertainment system. I actually learned where the switch for it was and have had to fix it myself since then

I've seen windows CE ones bug out too.

You would see the desktop, their crappy media player program would start, crash after a few minutes, screen goes black, back to desktop, start it again.

Very annoying crash loop. There wasn't even a way to turn off the screen.

>>58352053

That's just the result of leaving deployments of embedded systems to the lowest bidder.

Hail market.
