In all honesty /g/, I think the RX480 is an amazing card. I bought a 290X on release and while it performed well, it was hot and power hungry. And performance was not consistent in game works games.
I ended up selling that desktop and just got a new one with a RX480, and I did not expect such a quality of life improvement.
I have not been able to get it under 60fps on 1080P. Frame pacing is nearly flawless and drives are substantially better than before. It can handle Gameworks features much better than before.
Mine was $220 after rebate, and I cannot imagine a better card for 1080P. Whisper quiet, good power consumption, enough VRAM for max textures, and supports freesync and HDR.
I had to choose this or the 1060, and I'm glad I went for this. They are so similar in DX11 performance, that it makes no sense to risk issues with Async compute.
I think this tops the 750Ti for my favorite GPU.
The 480 has wildly varying performance because of shitty binning by AMD to drive the price down. You might have gotten a golden chip.

Lmao poorfag. GTX 1070 on a 1600p monitor is the standard now.

I'm just running it in quiet mode, it stays at 1330MHz. Just now starting to OC.

My perfect monitor would be a 2560x1080 Ultrawide Freesync HDR monitor

>having a 290x
