I've been studying LPTHW ( Learn Python The Hard Way ) and am at exercise 18.There are about 52 In total, I feel like he teaches at a snails pace and usually remedy his shit clarity issues with youtube and stackoverflow. If you had to pick the most important "exercises" In the book what would they be, and why?
>Anything by Zed Shaw
Don't listen to anything that hack says.
Zed's didactic methods are shit and don't work, find another resource that is actually good like http://greenteapress.com/wp/think-python-2e/

It's shit, use this automatetheboringstuff.com
If you feel like that book for ADD kiddies isn't fast enough, then you should stop trying to learn how to program at all.

Thx, didnt know this one.
Here's a Plaza quote to ty.

If I were Zed I'd say
DON'T SKIP ANY OF THE EXERCISES, TYPE EVERYTHING EXACTLY AS SHOWN AND USE THE EXACT SAME PROGRAMS USED IN THE BOOK AND NEVER BE CREATIVE AT ALL YOU SWINE
>>58344306
Thanks, I've had that book laying on my shelf for a while and never got started. Not really a programmer, but need to learn some Python to go deeper on some other projects.

Avoid Zed. Avoid Zed. Avoid Zed.
People pretty much only know about him because he gets mad at things and says controversial shit--and not actually because he actually knows what he is talking about.
I mean. Would you believe me if I told you he said that Python 3 isn't Turing-complete because it can't run Python 2 programs? Probably not, right? That's just stupid, right?
Well see for yourself: https://learnpythonthehardway.org/book/nopython3.html
Want a good Python book? Automate the Boring Stuff with Python is actually pretty great. You can even read it for free online if you don't want to go out and buy the book: https://automatetheboringstuff.com/
Good luck anon.

This, OP. Zed Shaw (The author of the book you're reading) pretty much completely sucks.
I've actually heard good things about Python the hard way, but I have not used it.
I do recommend this book though:
