I'm looking to buy some hi-fi speakers, price range of about ~£50 give or take
Any recommendations?- I'm not buying logitech again because the frequency range is poor and the music I listen to utilizes bass frequencies that they can't pick up on so I want an improvement in that area

If you are looking for bookshelf speakers look for second-hand Focals, Kef Q-1's (I have a pair myself and they sound great with good source material) or your Pic related, Monitor Audio (I would look at their silver range though). Failing that Paradigm.

not necessarily true -- some audiophile have very well preserved equipment and just want it out of their house to make room for new -- speakers that are less than 15 years old may still have at least 10 years left of normal operation, and may outperform anything new that is lower tier which cost 3x more
