Hello,
I have an idea for an Android app and I'm willing to learn the appropriate technologies to make it myself (for all it matters, I have previous experience in languages like Python/Ruby, C#, etc.).
My question is: should I be generally using Java with Android Studio in order to make it, or might it be possible to use another framework that might make things a little bit more straightforward (without me having to use Java)?

I do not have access to a Windows machine, though, and it doesn't seem like you can use Xamarin with Linux.
Is there anything for Python, for example?
