I want learn C and I'm a beginner at programming. Is the c programming language good for beginners?
>>
It's fine. IMO you should learn to program before learning a language, but some people learn both at the same time which is cool too.
>>

>for beginners
probably not, you should porbably read an assembly book so you understamd pointers first
>>
yes. it will teach you why all other languages are bullshit.
>>
>>58292933
This thread pops up every fucking day. I'm tired.
>>

It's alright. I used it in my freshman level class on C this past spring.

If you're a beginner at programming, you might consider Python first. Python gives you an outline of what it's like to program, whereas immediately jumping into C might be somewhat difficult if you like knowing the "why?" behind some techniques.

Don't namefag

Python first learns bad habits if you want to learn C just start with it

I've read it recently, and it's harder than the average programming book imo, because most of the example programs are quite hard to understand, like the calculator that uses reverse polish notation
Also, don't learn python.

>you should learn to program before learning a language
What do you mean by that?
>>
>>58293004
I actually know how to code some python but I don't really understand the why behind it. I want to get a lower language understanding.
>>
>>58293002
Really, I haven't seen a thread on this book. Post thread link.
>>
>>58293133
He probably means read something like SICP or TAOCP which teaches concepts instead of a language
>>
>>58293133
>What do you mean by that?
Start by doing stuff like the problems listed at https://projecteuler.net/archives

Describe, in your own words, how you would solve the problems there. Once you learn the art of problem solving, converting your solutions to "code" is a very simple process. A language is just a tool to implement your solution to a given problem.

Oh, I see, we did something very similar to that in fifth grade when we learnt what an algorithm is in computer class.
