A bit technological challenged ... I've canceled my internet contract.
Can I use the router just like an WiFi adapter? I have it connected to my laptop via USB. What do I search for, what terms ? Thanks

Yes

You will still be able to use the router to create a wireless network. This network will not be connected to the internet

My router is in another room, I can't stay with laptop in that room. Laptop can't discover some open wifi networks while a phone in the router room is able to see those wifi networks
If I connect laptop with usb cable to router and change some settings will I be able to use wifi?
Is is clearer now?

You need to get your router to act as a wifi repeater. Maybe it's available in the default firmware, but you are more likely able to achieve this with a custom firmware.
Check if your router is compatible with OpenWRT or DD-WRT. Then, when you have set up your router as a repeater, you can access the remote access point through your router by any mean it permits.

Okay I'm trying
I have TPlink so the settings are almost same as in this video https://youtu.be/B1IcTc_RB4E?t=86
I enable WDS, then hit scan but get zero APs
>connect by USB
No. The USB ports on those things are for sharing files over the network, not connecting to the router.

Well, there's nothing your router can do then. Either get a true wifi repeater known for having a good reception range, or turn your phone into a router.

Well fuck.
Thanks for clarifying.
Happy new year!
