So my computer locks up whenever I open certain .exes (pic related) and has also begun corrupting and deleting files at complete random, also making high-pitched screeching noises (the actual tower, not the speakers) and changing colors.
Is it time to give up, or can this be fixed? It took me 10 minuets of wading through shit just to post this.
Time to run chkdsk /r
Lol, it can't even choose the right image. Ignore this thread, it's fucked.

Run Memtest86+ on your box for a night, find out which stick is dead (by swapping out sticks one by one after having ran the test with all sticks in)
Contact your vendor and have them trade the sticks for non-ricer RAM (the less colors and tacky shit the better)
And please refrain from posting unoptimized PNGs.

Whoa, are you saying I might be able to salvage this thing? I'll have to try this out, thanks mate.

yeah, if it's the RAM you should be able to fix the thing easily
if it's the HDD then you'll have to change disks and restore backups.
for Memtest86+ you usually find it on a bunch of linux live CDs
Try putting an Ubuntu live distro on a pendrive, you should have the option to run memtest at startup.
Start running full tests on all sticks. If you get to 100% without errors, it isn't the RAM.
If you start getting errors, don't bother going further with the test. Remove half the sticks, and star testing again. Rinse and repeat until you find the culprit(s)

That's cool; what do you use to optimize? It seems to choose the line filters quite well.
