IT'S HAPPENING
>>
I remember the keynote last year, it was all about deep learning, not about any gpu's
>>
>>58223737

1080ti rumors have been in full swing.

it'll just be a further cut down GP102 with a lower price. Yields are too shit for full GP102 to be on consumer cards.

Pascal Titan X is not full GP102 either, it has 256 shaders disabled.
>>
Can't wait for them to show off the newest tech demoed on last years chips.

And maybe some shit about their janky autonomous car set up.
>>
1080 Ti is DOA because it doesn't use GP100 or a modded GP102 with HBM2.
>>
1080ti will be 15-20% improvement on 1080.
Its been said they dont want to damage 1080 and titan sales
>>
I bet that there won't even be a 1080Ti coming out.
They're probably just going to do a 2000 series refresh on Pascal at the end of next year, while utilizing the full GP102.
>>
>>58224812
>and titan sales
more than 100 people bought that?
>>
>>58223727
THANK YOU BASED NVIDIA
>>
No matter what any company does at CES this year the focus will all be on AMD and Ryzen.
>>
>>58224979
I can't wait for AMD to announce that Ryzen is coming early 2018
>>

I'm gonna buy the next flagship, screw Paxwell.

in b4 no HBM2

ikr
>>
>>58225073

I'd be surprised if Nvidia does go HBM given they bet on HMC and have adopted GDDR5X
>>
>>58225089

HBM2 might be available on their flagship which I hope they won't gimp in favour of their quadro line as they did due to disappointing yields.

Nvidia now exclusively sells them, restricting third parties.

On top of that, they switched from TSMC to Samsung fabs which is a positive move.
>>
>>58225153

IIRC HBM2 caps out at 16gb - which wouldn't be too great for the top end quadros.
>>
I'm hoping for some Vega GPUs to be quite frankly honest. I don't think they'll destroy the Paxwell Titan X, but I'd like to see if there is another bigger Vega chip. Also, 7nm GPUs when?
>>
>>58224979
4k 144hz IPS adaptive sync monitors w/no dead pixels or backlight bleed plz.

>Nothing can play games @ 4k 144hz

I just want web browsing and shitposting to be smooth and future proof myself for when GPUs can max them out.
>>
>>58225252
i'd be happy with 140 120hz OLED for under 1.5k
not going to happen
>>
>>58225216
7nm in 2020+
10nm probably end of 2018

I'd go volta next gen if not for nvidia elitzclub, paid botnet, driver features under login screen and lifetime of gpu under 1,5 years with neglect
>>
>>58225290
AMD isn't doing 10nm, educate yourself.
>>
>>58225252
>>58225270

OLED has serious latency issues, HDRR is the next step
>>
>>58225343
does it? all sort of people claim under 1ms response times
I thought only burn in was the real issue.

>>58225330
how is AMD relevant to my answer? Nvidia uses TSMC they are starting their 10nm next year.
>>
Why would I want a 1080Ti when fucking Volta is rumored to come out next summer?
>>
>>58225343

>LED
>latency issues

Latency is not an issue for LEDs (1+ MHz no problem). If those screens have isues than it's not a problem with the LEDs.

OLED is still the tits.

>>
>>58225405
Volta will come out next summer in the same way Pascal GP100 technically came out this summer: in homeopathic dosages, sold for $12.000 per chip only to a handful of selected Nvidia partners.

Volta for consumers is 2018.

>>
>>58225073
>>58225153
GP100 will not ever find its way to consumers.

>>58225611
GP100 didn't even come out in the summer. They finally taped out an engineering sample that didn't rapidly crack the TSV's in fall. Even now they're still having problems with it.

AMD spent a year and a half fixing the same exact shit so not surprised.

Actual high end chips like full GP102 and GP100 are still unoptanium.

no, it will be fully unlocked like the 780ti was.

it's a 400mm2 die. yields are not a problem, nvidia just wanted to jew the fully unlocked cards since they had no competition.

No they don't. The 1080 does in some not very demanding / well optimized games, but gets 70-80 FPS in others.
I have a 1070 and get mostly consistent 60 FPS with hairworks on in Witcher 3.

I disagree. This place has been getting progessively worse and worse not only in regards to shitposting about AMD (and shitposting in general to be fair) but equally more and more ignorant of market trends in favour of defending the status quo to the point of denying anything suggesting otherwise.

Even if we focus just on AMD vs Intel and Nvidia, AMD has had an enormous year of restructuring and refocusing on what it needs to do to fight both companies. This along with several lucrative multi-year contracts with some big players (like providing server gear to some large chinese companies) has lead to strong investor confidence but even now /g/ doesn't want to hear it.

The leaks of zen from that french magazine are being spun to justify Intel's superiority with a complete lack of understanding what the data shows (which is in a nutshell that the 8c/16t zen chip is highly competitive against broadwell-e). The mere fact that zen lost to a 6700k in the game testing is somehow proof its a failure...yet the 6700k also butchered the 600k.

The only place worse than /g/ for this sort of thing is Hardocp - their forum is a flatout Intel/Nvidia circlejerk with a few posters threadshitting every single positive AMD thread (most of which also post on OCN doing the same).

Plus we have the same french magazine suggesting the current CEO of Intel isn't that good at his job right now (and all the fun that entails from a management perspective).

Um you do realize that investors are actually fucking clueless fucks? You can literally cause stock to increase by releasing false positive news that the company is doing amazingly. Fuck, even nintendo investors killed themselves upon realizing that nintendo wasn't the sole developer behind Pokemon Go.

But guess you're too young to have realized that just because they're authoritative figures, doesn't mean they're always right. :)
>>
>>58233672
Yeah, AMD's been fooling everyone for the last year, once everything comes to light, they'll drop back to $1 per share where they rightfully belong!
>>
>>58233672
Look retard, while your average investor is clueless, professionals are not. When we started getting real information about polaris and zen the stock price vaulted. Stock price can be manipulated in the short term, see motley fool and zerohedge, but long term manipulation is much harder. AMDs fundamentals are strong, and with even 10% of the enterprise market their long term debt is wiped out in one year. They restructured their company to ensure their ability to be more nimble and divested themselves of GloFo. GloFo was a money sink before it was spun off, and now AMD has a contract to source chips from Samsung (as a secondary). AMD would not make such a deal if it didn't think that GloFo couldn't keep up with demand for Zen/GPUs. Smart market analysis knows that GloFo won't be able to, even GloFo knew this which is why they didn't protest the contract.

The next 2 years could be banner years for AMD. All they have to do is gain back 10% market share in enterprise and improve their market share in the consumer markets. They don't even really need the consumer markets financially, they want it for the mind share.
