>install linux distro
>trackpad doesn't work
>no spare usb mouse
fuck you antergos
I had this problem with the Antegros minimal installer, try the full installer.
Use your BIOS to its advantage stupid
>install linux distro
>wifi doesn't work
>no spare ethernet cable
fuck you antergos
>install ubuntu
>wi-fi is retarded
>install other *buntus
>each has their own little problems, usually DE-related
>install openSUSE
>no problems anywhere
Welp.
Try a less fringe distro
>>58222090
I had way more problems with openmeme than a debian based distro. Debian and most variants are comfy
>>58222052
same with the full installer. the buttons don't work at all just the pad movement.
>>58222060
what does the bios have to do with my mouse?
>>58222157
Hardware differences, I suppose.
"no problems anywhere" isn't an exaggeration; Ubuntu was a fairly smooth ride, but openSUSE has had zero bumps for me so far.
And this is Tumbleweed I'm using.

that's just parted and mkfs
>>58222024
Use the keyboard.
>>58222024
Manjaro doesn't have this problem.

lmao fucking retard
try modern hardware

Install Arch with arch-anywhere if you want a installer OP
>>58223068
are you fucking joking? the wifi won't even work with that shit. when it comes to drivers linux is full retard.
>>58222911
>debian
>sweet apt

>sweet apt
>up to date packages.
feels good.
>install linux distro
>_____ doesn't work
who would've thunk
>>58222024
why dont you just use the keyboard to fix it? you dont need a mouse to use the terminal.
>>58223068
Or Apricity. The only issue I ever had with it was when they changed their repos’ address, so this was quickly fixed (the custom Apricity repos are for some custom elements, but you can access the general Arch repos and the AUR)
And basically, this is a pre-riced Arch with some extra software you can easily remove if you don’t want them.
Pick related is how my own desktop looks like.
>>58222024
Hmmm, Devuan Jessie without systemd doesn't have this problem. . .
>>58222024
>antergos
Found your problem OP. Never had a trackpad issue with vanilla arch or gentoo
Is wiki such a hard place to check? For every distro there is useful information to fix your problems. Usually it just takes a command or two.
>>58224537
this looks sweet as fuck
>someone finally blames the distro and not linux in it's entirety
>install xubuntu
>trackpad has spastic levels of accel
>disabling acceleration in the settings doesn't do anything
>the software manager does not work
>panels randomly stop working
>keyboard randomly stops working
>>58226122
Apricity is a bretty good distro senpai.
>>58224537
What resolution is that? Looks fucking terrible
>>58222024
Try Arch Anywhere instead.
>decide to try linux on laptop
>windows boots to desktop in about 5 seconds
>GRUB increases boot time to 30 seconds because it waits for me to select OS
>no way to make it automatically load a OS unless a certain key is held down
>have to disable fast boot too if I want to access windows files on linux
>>58226279
Are you in a hurry?
>>58226297
Nah, I've just gotten used to SSD boot times and hate to return back to age of mechanical drives where you could go drink a coffee while your PC booted.
>>58226279
Really? My grub autoboots unless a key is held down to show the menu.
I'm certain that you can set up grub2 to do that for you if you want to.
>>58226358
I suppose that's just GRUB's fault, not Linux'
>>58223046
Like pottery
>>58222854
Manjaro is comfy af
The one at fault here isn't the distro, but your retardation, OP.
>install Arch
>trackpad doesnt work
>search google for solution
>arch wiki
>install xf86 touchpad synaptics
>reboot
>just werkz
>tfw im not retarded

>have to find something to do
fuck you debian
>>58222237
openSUSE is quite fantastic these days, partly due to the fact it is supported financially by SUSE and has actual paid professionals developing it rather than some basement dwelling hobbyist
