How is it any better than Evernote? At least Evernote connects to my existing Google account, this requires another account on its own.

I'm using OneNote to write down thougts and day plan every morning. Using Outlook calendar as a reference for events to put down to OneNote.

I don't encrypt individual notes, I store it in a dm-crypt folder

I switched to iA Writer after I learned how bad Evernote privacy was and I haven't looked back.

Evernote is a crutch, plain text files, markdown and latex are the better tools depending on the job, and you can encrypt those however you want.

I use my notes as a journal. I couldn't share my intimate thoughts knowing Google/Evernote can snoop anytime.

I use keep for grocery lists and storing links and non private notes.

I wanted an app I could sync the notes on different devices, without having to pay to access them offline, this is just too jewish for me.

Since I use Wunderlist for to-dos (after a long hiatus when it was unreliable on sync) I just throw notes into there as well. When I get around to it, those entries get filtered off to their own list. Once in a while I'll either clear out the clutter or put more useful things in a better resource holder.

Basically I think apps are good for capture but shit for storage. OneNote sort of bridges the gap. PC software or pen and paper still reign for me.

I keep my sensitive notes in my laptop in an encrypted folder. No sync needed because I value my privacy for these notes.

You my balk at the idea of needing security for "small notes" but if you want to migrate all of your notes and journaling to a service like this, you'd be a stupid asshole to not seek an encrypted option.
