Is there a particular reason why you can't use a desktop? If you want customised solutions desktops have more options. If laptop is absolutely necessary metabox isn't bad. I however have had bad luck with hinges on laptops over the years so do be careful. In terms of needing something in between sorry there are only the options that are available.

For almost the same price you can get a dell xps 15 9550, yes is 15 inches screen but with almos no bezels that makes it the same size as any 14inch laptop. It have a GTX 960M but the performance difference is minnimal.

As far I'm aware, that Clevo is the only 14" model you'll find with a quad-core and discrete graphics. Who knows if it'll get a refresh? Eurocom sells it too if you're Canadian.

Consider the ASUS G20CB. It's a prebuilt desktop, but it's near laptop sized and isn't that much more expensive then the raw parts would be if you built it yourself
