I just got a hand me down thinkpad. It's pretty old and beaten up so I wanted to throw a decent Linux distro on there. Something relatively easy to use as I haven't used Linux for years.
What do you think I should do with this thing? Any ideas?
It's not very powerful so my main uses would be general office stuff, light emulation, Netflix, that sorta thing.

A Core Duo should be enough to run modern distros. Just pick one that's widely used and has a lot of support like Debian or Fedora, that should help you troubleshoot whatever problems come along.

Well I want something that's a bit better optimized for this older system. This thing is chugging with Windows 7, I can't imagine it'll do well with Windows 10.

It's an X60s. I don't know much about thinkpads so I hope that is what you're looking for.
