Is anyone here a competent programmer?
I've been trying to learn how to program for a few weeks, i can make a few simple programs with python but not much else.
what's the best you can currently do?
How long did it take you to get to that level?

>python
You'll never become a competent programmer with this pile of shit.
>>58155512
What do you suggest i learn then?
Also, why is python a pile of shit?
>>58155570
Python is fine, just not commonly used and slow as dicks
I'd learn C up until you can work with dynamic memory then try some kind of OOP (ie. C++, Java)
Programming knowledge comes piece by piece, don't expect to be able to implement crazy algorithms overnight.

Python is fine

>competent programmer?
If by competent you mean understanding shit like openssl and the linux kernel. Then no I dont think I will ever be competent.

>indentation error because of mixed spaces and tabs
But as for novice, this language doesn't teach about not mixing the data types, it just silently converts them.
And a """"pro"""" tip: never compare floats directly.
