Anyone know what ever happened to that Commodore 64 reboot? Thought it looked pretty neat to be honest.

Nah, it was like a hardware reboot. They used the old design but modern insides. I keep trying to post a link to it but it won't let me. Lemme try this again..

I belive it was called Commodore 64 X.
Pretty garbage if you ask me.

The site for it doesn't exist anymore so I guess that was the general consensus. Seems like it could've been sorta neat but rip.

Thats really nifty

There are few reviews on YouTube for that thng.
I don't remember the exact specifications (I assume It would be some laptop hardware) but I remember people complaining about garbage quality of the molding for the case, garbage peripherals (optical drive) and not sufficient cooling.
But then again it was a novelty item in a fancy case at best.
Not even the company behind it expected people to use it daily.
The guy who was behind it, Barry Altman, died and so that was the end of Commodore USA and the C64X case. You can still buy the case occasionally on Craigslist or from his son directly. The keys are MX Blues.

Which Commodore 64 reboot? There were so damn many, and all of them failed miserably. The only drawing factor is the nostalgia over a plastic case.
Speaking of which, did y'all hear that some "picker" managed to obtain the original injection-mould for the C64C? They've started producing new cases with that mould, this time out of ABS that doesn't yellow and with new color options. So if you have a C64 with a busted case you're in luck. Cool stuff!

If you want a new c64 then lookup c64 reloaded. You missed the initial shipments so ebay is your only source for now. Match it with a new case from the original molds too for extra fun. And/or pick up a Turbo Chaneleon 64 cart for fpga goodness. It can run standalone or plug into the cart port for floppy emulation, memory, ethernet etc.
