>no ethernet
It runs Windows
>>58123155
they give you an ethernet dongle with the laptop
>>58123178
But then I lose a USB port
>>58123169
I bought a Freedos version and installed Ubuntu on it.
after installing tlp, battery life is about 5 hours(wifi, mid brightness, chrome)
>>58123199
it has a small port for ethernet only
so no usb ports wasted
pic is the ethernet dongle
>>58123132
>16:9
I might have gotten the 3:2 ativbook 9
>>58123132
Not enough ports, if I get a laptop it's for professional use, not a facebook machine.
>>58123371
meant 16:10*
the upcoming chromebook pro is 3:2
>>58123132
So close, and yet so far.

>dongle
>compact design
Choose one. I'm sick of this shit. It's like saying your motorcycle is a lean, streamlined machine, but you need to strap a dumbass sidecar onto it to accomplish a basic task. No. Fuck off. Add the extra few grams of weight and make something that doesn't look retarded.

Come on anon, a dedicated port for an ethernet dongle is literally the best compromise that can possibly be made. You don't lose usb ports, it's thinner for the people that thinness appeals to, and the dongle's small. Where's the problem? It's not about weight - it's about thickness. The port only just fits vertically on an X230 and that's a chunky laptop by today's standards.

>it's thinner for the people that thinness appeals to ... Where's the problem?
that's the problem
my x200 weighed less than 3 lbs 8 years ago and had an ethernet port with room to spare

keyboard looks like shit, i bet it also feels like shit
shitty keyboards are unbearable

>best compromise
No. Compromise, by its very definition, means there is something to be desired. For instance, I desire a laptop that doesn't come with the visual HIV that is a dongle for every interface they didn't include because they opted for form over function. And even then: it is aesthetically ugly as shit too. What is the advantage? A 20+$ part you're more likely to lose or damage? Is everyone fucking retarded?
