Upgrading into a gtx 980 for Christmas and currently have a gtx 950. Would it be efficient or possible at all to use both at the same time on my PC?
Do not buy deprecated consumer electronics
You cannot use both at a time except if that thing where you dedicate one GPU to PhysX is still around. If PhysX is even still around

Possible: Yes
Efficient: No
Why would you even want to do that?
Ignore this retard, he obviously has no fucking clue what he's talking about.

Checked
also same ^.^

don't buy a 980, go with a 1060 or 1070, or better yet wait for amd
>>58115310
Are you getting the 980 for a heavily discounted price or something?
You'll see a very noticeable improvement in performance but that's only because the 950 is the drizzling shits.

Also the multi-GPU sli w/ the 980 and 950, while possible, would be really pointless.
In a few months the GTX 980 will be slower than a GTX 1050
It's just my budgeting really, I only have about $600-$700 and I also need to buy a new keyboard

>while possible
It's not possible though. You can only SLI a 980 with another 980.

You can if its supported. I had something similar with a gtx 980 and a 760, though I think only cad took advantage of it. You could run your 950 as a dedicated physx card like what I did, tho its not really worth it since performance didn't change
