should I consider a DIY side window or should I just track down a windowed side panel for a different case with similar dimensions and pray it can fit? Or would it look fine without a window and just light shining through the front mesh?

Did you really expect every single case to have the same dimensions just because they can accept the same motherboard? You're not nearly as tech smart as you think you are.
