So /g/, after doing some research both here and on YouTube, I caved and bought my first pair of decent headphones. I bought a pair of Phillips 9500's after seeing reviews on YouTube and people here saying they were pretty good for under $100. Did i do okay? Where should I go from here?

get a good DAC

What is a DAC?

You just reminded me that back in the late 90s I had some Philips headphones that were just awesome.

Currently using them for vidya gaymen and they're gr8. Comfy for ling periods of time. Sound good for someone who isn't an audiophile but know what bad sounds like, and they don't feel like cheap garbage.

Digital to analog converter, many DACs come with amps like fiio some fiio models. Since it it your first headphone, I wouldn't be so sure you would notice any big difference with or without the dac.
Anyways where will you plug it to?

DAC is a meme. If you are fine with these and your on-board audio, why would you buy something else?

You could experiment with replacement ear pads.
Bumping for interest. I'm using, I think, an old pair of Sony MDX series headphones and wondering what I should get that isn't the Seinhauser meme.

Sennheisers arent even an meme, there is a reason why they can make 50k$ headphone and sell it and its not the brand...
