Easier to download from F-Droid than to download source from Github, compile in Android studio, and copy APK to phone. And for what it's worth, most F-Droid applications are also hosted on Github.

Are you for real? You don't need to download sources to install apks off github. A lot off git apps offer/have/host apks so you don't have to bother doing shit the hard way. and github is already mobile optimized so you can just download apks off git on your phone off any mobile browser.

Each app on F-droid has it's github link. If you want to be autistic about it you can visit it to fetch the latest version if F-droid doesn't have it, but a dedicated app store is much better than having to navigate github in hopes that the dev compiled the apk file and put it there. Especially when the site has a shitty design and doesn't include a gigantic normie download button at the top to get the app.
