>Club GeForce Elite would cost $10 per month. In exchange, subscribers would receive several benefits: A rotating bundle of four free games from the GFE app store per quarter (along the lines of Xbox Live Games with Gold freebies), exclusive in-game items and GeForce gear, and a “Free GeForce PC in the cloud subscription.”

In other words, they try to bring the 'pay to play online' meme from consoles over to PC.

Isn't nvidia like 4 years late on trying to open an app store?

marketing pyramid 101

nvidia at the same level as cosmetics selling scams
>>
Worst time for them to be pulling this shit when AMD finally has some hammer blows to drop with RyZen and Vega

Based on the demoed performance of Vega they have a chip that is going to be significantly faster than the gtx1080 in 4K (144hz, 1440p is still a question mark)

An i7 equivalent OC part for for 199$ with a cheaper motherboard socket combined with a Vega GPU that will slap the shit out of the 1070/1080 and the same or lower price-point is a potent combo.
>>
>>58061957
Vega is literally irrelevant outside of /g/. 2 years down the line you guys will praise it same way u did with 390x while both cards sold 10 times less than 970 or 1060. I'm hyped for Zen though, only thing they can go for is price, their performance will be similar to Intel but that's only because we are at silicon limits. All I care about is price, also dunno about that gaymen performance without HT.

480 is the best selling card this year

have fun
>>
>>58062543
>Source: my gaping ass while steam shows that both 1070 and 1060 owners already outnumber 480 owners 4 to 1.

Wew lad you sure convinced me and disproved that /g/ is this one butthurt AMD echo chamber.
>>
>>58062532
Intel will definitely have better floating point performance
>>
>>58062543
only when selling GPU as parts. Nvidia still rules OEM market because deals and dumb consumers
>>
>>58062543

not even close to true. even the 1080 has outsold the 480 massively before you even factor in the 1070/1060/1050ti/1050.

oh i laffin
>>
>>58062543
1070 and 1060 did, the 1080 at least last I checked still wasn't above a 480 in sold cards.

a good place to invest my neetbux

only a wagefag would be upset about 10 dollars
>>
>>58062726
oh, definitely, it would be embarrassing if they did not, but the question is do you need it?

blender and handbrake are saying probably not, and because they aren't fpu monsters, the part will be cheaper as a result.

Lets put it this way, zen has a 128bit fpu, of 256bit is used its split, you are still using and 8 core cpu against what is likely going to be a 4 core in its price range, that small trade off in performance is why amd is likely putting out an 8 core for a 4 core price point. fpu heavy tasks will be a clear intel win, but so far, have no see compelling arguments that that intel heavy fpu workload is worth it, at least if you are not making money off using the computer for that workload.

that's what GPUs are for
