Hey /g/, just dug out my old emachine pc. Was thinking of throwing it away but I thought I could make it into a modern gaming rig or a programming rig. Is it possible for this old piece of hardware or is it a lost cause? Pic related

post your hardware in a more detailed matter, and we could actually help you.

I suppose you could use the case...
No idea if anything inside it is still viable, as >>58049789 has pointed out.

My guess is that for a gaymen rig, you'll have to replace pretty much everything

OP here. Found a link for the specs

No, motherboard/cpu only support 2gb ram max.
Ram is ddr2.
hdd is sata1
psu is too small and probably not atx.
Nothing usable here.
>>
Could be used as a router, but there isn't much reason to.
>>
>>58050002
Dear god it is horrible.
Anon just build yourself a new build. Things would be so much easier if you did.
>>
>>58050162
Damn. Well thanks anyway, anon. Might just keep the tower only then.
>>
>>58050317
i don't even recommend that, that case isnt going to have any options for actual pc building (removable components, additional fans, vents, cable management, etc.) because it wasn't manufactured for it. a case with those options would be a small fraction of your budget.
>>
>>58050494
Shit. So i just throw it away? Oh well. Thanks anyway.

>>58050290
Yeah, might as well. Thanks for the input
>>
>>58049757
Unless you have the imagination and skills to use it for anything right now.
It would be best to buy something new(er).

And it is pretty much bait to upload a 800x450 image and ask us for input.

Go to PC building general.
>>
Its LGA 775, so you could turn it into a gayman rig of something like the GTA IV era
Modern Warfare 2, Sims 3, that kinda shit

grab a new psu, try and get to 4gb of ram and pick up a cheap gtx 470 or something

it wont be anything fancy but its not full autism pentium 4 tier
you could go full autism pentium 4 tier

your motherboard wont support the really good pentium D's you could OC, the vrm would burst into flames
